Software training firm, Infinite Skills Inc., this week introduced its “SolidWorks - Animation Tutorial,” an advanced SolidWorks course focusing on the palette of tools for creating basic animations and walkthroughs for assembly and motorized models.
SolidWorks is a computer aided design program that uses a parametric, feature-based assembly system for building mechanical models.
Infinite Skills’ SolidWorks - Animation Video Training provides a focused training guide, enabling experienced SolidWorks users to start creating walkthroughs and rendering animations after only a few concise lessons.
Course author, Matt Perez, is a certified expert in SolidWorks who has worked in training and private training consulting, helping companies develop strategies to improve efficiency in using SolidWorks since 2011. A SolidWorks user since 2009, Perez has been recognized by SolidWorks for innovation with surfacing models. More recently, he presented at SolidWorks World on kinematics, demonstrating how to work with motion in SolidWorks modeling.
Following a brief overview, Perez demonstrates how to set up the command manager and toolbars for creating animation. He then provides an in-depth introduction to the motion manager, showing how its features are arranged, how to use the timeline and key points, and work with the toolbar.
Perez then looks at the animation wizard, which enables users to manipulate the view with options for rotation, and explode and collapse view.
The course then guides students through the animation process, explaining the essentials of point-to-point and kinematic animation. Perez then demonstrates how to work with cameras and lights, and use other features to create a walkthrough before concluding with a look at output options, including render and using the SolidWorks Scheduler.
"Throughout this video series, you should understand basic animation and how to create almost any basic animation within SolidWorks," Perez says.
