Isuzu Motors, Japan’s well-known manufacturer of commercial vehicles, light commercial vehicles and diesel engines, signed ProSTEP iViP Association’s Code of PLM Openness (CPO). By this, Isuzu clearly takes position und underlines the already strong request for more Openness in PLM within Asia.
“We welcome Isuzu’s step and we are sure, that beside companies like Toyota and Isuzu other big Japanese manufacturers will follow within the next month.”, stated Dr. Oliver Riedel, ProSTEP iViP’s Chairman of the Board.
Far more than 70 companies from America, Asia and Europe already signed the CPO and benefit by its application. CPO defines a commonly agreed baseline of PLM Openness. IT Customers use it for streamlining purchasing processes and related discussions. IT Vendors take advantage of the CPO for illustrating how their products address the openness requirements. This includes integration possibilities for 3rd party solution providers, which was in the past more seen as “essential, but probably not possible to address”.
