ASCON Releases Home Edition of KOMPAS-3D V15

ASCON Group is pleased to release the brand new Home edition of KOMPAS-3D V15. This parametric software offers all the basic features needed in 2D and 3D design for just 70 Euros (US$95).  The low-cost tool is meant for non-commercial and home use by amateur designers, hobby engineers, and full-time students -- anyone interested in CAD software.

About KOMPAS-3D Home

At its heart, KOMPAS-3D Home is a flexible 3D modeling system that lets you create 3D models parametrically. Parametric technology has the extraordinary advantage of generating a range of products quickly, all based on a single prototype.

A rich collection of functions assist you in producing accurate plans, clear diagrams, documented reports, and even prepare vector-based illustrations output in PDF format. Our integrated drawing editor provides a variety of design disciplines with flexible and automated work procedures.

Its intuitive KOMPAS-ABC learning system lets you easily learn CAD through self-study. The learning system is provided with numerous examples of 3D models, 2D drawings, and surface models. After just a few exercises, you will be able to use the functions of KOMPAS-3D Home effortlessly.

With the professional surfacing commands found in KOMPAS-3D Home, you can create shapes as simple or complex as your designs require. You can even model virtual body surfaces with a thickness of zero, the kind of flexible body that’s ideal for complex geometries.

KOMPAS-3D Home is built on a specially developed version of our own modeling kernel and its parametric design system. The specialists at ASCON Group developed our kernel to combine the advantages of parametric construction, history-based design, and direct modeling. Out of these, we built our sophisticated 3D CAD system that offers all of the crucial functions needed for modeling solids and surfaces.

Exchange Data with Other CAD Systems Easily

KOMPAS-3D Home supports the most common formats, like DWG, DXF, and STEP. This means it can read design files from a large variety of other CAD, CAM, and CAE systems – as well export to them.

Drawings and models can be exported in raster formats like TIFF for technical documentation and JPEG for Web site illustrations.
