Robert Lamanna serves as Director, Model-Based Enterprise, PEO IWS, ePLM IDE Program Manager, Naval Surface Warfare Center - Port Hueneme Division. Robert manages a range of work-streams essential to the successful execution of PLM implementations across various US Navy and US Marine Corps integrated weapon system programs. Previous to this he served as the Project Lead on the Joint US Army / USN / USMC ePLM IDE program where he coordinated PLM implementations for the US Army Communications Electronic Life Cycle Management Command (CECOM), Logistics & Readiness Center Headquarters. At the core of ePLM IDE is a “PLM” capability that significantly enhances the collaborative creation, management, dissemination, and use of product definition information, spanning from product concept to end of life and provides a structured, authoritative product information backbone for weapons systems. The “IDE” incorporates key system and support data (i.e. reliability, maintainability, cost, and supply chain) with RAM-C Modeling and Simulation capabilities for decision makers to determine the operational readiness impacts and lifecycle costs of critical design and support modifications. Together, ePLM IDE establishes critical links between configuration changes, system baselines, and supporting analysis aligning Naval Product Support to the Navy’s Warfighting Operational Strategies.
The Guide is designed to help potential PLM users evaluate the applicability and payoffs of PLM in their enterprise, and to help existing users of PLM monitor the impact it is having on their product programs.
