EDA Tech Forum® Worldwide Event Series Begins April 3, 2007
EDA Tech Forum, a key technical and networking resource for the electronics engineering community, announced its 2007 worldwide event series. With 18 free one-day conferences scheduled for North America, Europe, Japan, and the Pacific Rim, the EDA Tech Forum will deliver a wealth of technical information to help electronics engineers tackle today's toughest design challenges. Registration is now open for the first event, which takes place at the Hilton Long Beach hotel in Long Beach, California on April 3, 2007. The industry keynote speaker is Dr. Steve Chien, a principal scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology. In his presentation, "Move Over HAL - Autonomous Spacecraft," he will discuss the use of artificial intelligence (AI) software at use within the Earth Observing One (EO-1) spacecraft, which is currently orbiting earth. AI has helped to autonomously identify and track science events such as volcanic activity, flooding, and snow/ice/water freeze/thaw cycles. This technology has enabled dramatic new science and saved millions of dollars in operations costs. Is this spacecraft "intelligent"? How does it work? What decisions does it make? Does it learn? Does it interact with other spacecraft? Come hear a discussion of these topics as well as prospects for communities of intelligent spacecraft.
The EDA Tech Forum series brings together over 7,500 attendees annually from over 2,000 companies. It provides an excellent opportunity for designers and engineers to network with their peers and, conversely, for EDA solution providers to reach those markets. Event activities include keynotes discussing the latest EDA issues, hands-on workshops, a vendor fair with new product demonstrations, and technical sessions focused on the design areas of design for manufacturability, analog/mixed signal design, electronic system level (ESL) design, verification, and functional verification, as well as the challenges surrounding system design.
