HOVENSA Chooses Open Text for Enterprise ECM
Open TextT Corporation announced that energy giant HOVENSA has chosen to update their manual document management processes to an enterprise-wide ECM solution.
HOVENSA, a joint venture between a subsidiary of Hess Corporation and a subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), operates a world-class merchant refinery in St Croix, USVI. The facility is one of the most modern refineries in the United States and, with crude oil processing capacity of 495,000 barrels per day (BPD), is one of the largest in the world.
The company needed a comprehensive ECM solution to help manage a wide range of enterprise documents, including drawings, procedures, and compliance documents. The solution must also make the various documents easily accessible online to many groups within the organization. The company will adopt Open Text's Livelink ECM solution, which will become the central document and records management platform for the company.
Initially, HOVENSA will focus on loading existing documents into the system, and then begin workflow improvements, including the OSHA "Management of Change" process. The company expects to have the initial system operational in early 2007 and the Management of Change process completed by July 2007.
