200 Participants at Sescoi India's Products' Launch Seminar
Sescoi hosted a well attended seminar in Pune, India, on 21st November, welcoming over 200 participants to the launch of WorkNC G3, the latest version of its CAM/CAD software, and WorkPLAN Enterprise, its new ERP system. Engineers from Sescoi India and Sescoi International demonstrated the software packages and the transformation in productivity that their introduction would bring.
Indian users of WorkNC include Bharat Forge, the second largest forging company in the world and part of the $1.2 billion Kalyani Group, and Sermo ARRK India, part of the €1.8 billion ARRK Group, which uses WorkNC throughout its organization.
The 49% annual sales growth in India, has led Sescoi to open a regional sales office in Bangalore to bring WorkNC, WorkPLAN Enterprise and MyWorkPLAN to the southern regions of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Kerala.
The WorkNC 'G3' CAM/CAD system features a single unified ergonomic interface which brings together design, analysis, programming and simulation, adding to the ease of use of the system. This enables engineers to manipulate geometry and toolpaths and arrive at an optimized machining sequence as quickly as possible. New machining algorithms provide smoother cutter trajectories and transitions, speeding up cycle times and improving surface quality and precision. 5-axis toolpaths have been extended in WorkNC G3 to provide dedicated blade and impeller machining routines as well as extra options for the software's unique Auto 5 technology. Auto 5 automatically translates 3-axis toolpaths into 5-axis, providing significant advantages to toolmakers by reducing the number of electrodes required, machining more of the part in one setting and improving quality by utilizing shorter and more rigid cutters.
WorkPLAN Enterprise is Sescoi's ERP system for custom manufacturers which includes integrated interfaces with CAM and CAD systems. The system uses a MySQL® database and brings the manufacturing capability required by die and moldmakers without the complexity. Its open architecture and a drag and drop interface simplifies operation, enables data sharing, and fits well with Sescoi's ease of use ethos. Companies installing WorkPLAN Enterprise will benefit from improved control over quotations, production, delivery, quality and cost and will be able to monitor key performance indicators in real time, enabling them to optimize profit levels.
Manufacturers who were unable to attend the launch seminar will have another opportunity to see WorkNC G3 and WorkPLAN Enterprise at the DieMould India exhibition running from 15th to 18th February 2008 in Bangalore.
