Lionbridge Joins EMC Velocity2 Technology and ISV Partner Program to Help Organizations Automate the Process of Global Content Management
Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. announced that it has joined the EMC Velocity Technology and ISV Program to enhance interoperability between the FreewayT translation management system and the EMC content management and archiving platform.
EMC's® Documentum® is a widely used content management system (CMS) that can be optimized with the addition of Freeway. The combined solution provides companies with the ability to cost effectively meet rising content demands, such as new products and documentation, online learning, and global Web sites, delivered to a worldwide audience.
Lionbridge is using Web Services to establish a direct connection between Freeway and leading CMS platforms, such as EMC's Documentum. By directly connecting Freeway with Documentum, clients benefit from an enhanced CMS solution that improves the quality of global content and reduces the time content managers spend on manually exporting information from the CMS and sending it through the translation process, without deploying additional translation management software. Joint customers are able to greatly improve processes and lower the costs of global content management.
"As a respected women's organization dedicated to HIV+ education, The Well Project needed a global content management solution that could meet its ongoing global Web site expansion needs into various languages," said Richard G. Averitt, Co-Founder and Board Member of The Well Project. "The ability to easily integrate Freeway with our Documentum platform enabled us to quickly and effectively reach at-risk women's communities around the world without having to deploy additional translation management software. And, given the variant cultural sensitivity to this disease, having access to Lionbridge's in-country translators via Freeway's Web portal gave us the confidence that words were not only translated correctly, but localized to fit the different nationalities we support."
Recently, Lionbridge announced its CMS Alliance Program, an ecosystem of vendors and systems integrators that have come together to streamline the processes between content management and globalization. Freeway seamlessly integrates with existing CMS workflows directly, creating synergies in the way that organizations handle their primary and global content distribution. By connecting Documentum and the Freeway platform, no additional software is required to manage global content, reducing the total cost of global content delivery. "EMC is pleased that Lionbridge has joined the EMC Velocity Technology and ISV Program to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in enterprise content management and archive application design for its Freeway platform," said Barry Ruditsky, Vice President of OEM Sales and ISV Business Development, Content Management & Archiving, EMC Corporation. "Distributing global content is often seen as a challenging add-on to the core content management process. We look forward to working with Lionbridge to ensure that our mutual customers are able to streamline the delivery of global content, and maximize the native power of their CMS."
