Babcock Implements FORAN System
Babcock Support Services Limited has closed an agreement with the Spanish company Sener Ingeniería y Sistemas S.A., for the licence to use the FORAN CAD/CAM System.
Activities have started immediately and FORAN has already been installed at the company premises in Rosyth, United Kingdom.
The agreement includes licences of the main FORAN packages: Hull Structure, Outfitting, Electrical and Accommodation. In addition, FORAN Development Environment will be used for the customisation of the outputs as well as for connecting FORAN with the existing Business Systems.
Services to be provided by Sener include installation and set up, on-site technical assistance and maintenance and support.
Initially, FORAN will be used in the development of the Stages 2 & 3 (Building Phase) of the CVF Project (UK Royal Navy Future Aircraft Carrier). Babcock is a key member of the Aircraft Carrier Alliance and its integration facilities in Rosyth will be engaged in the design and building of the largest warship ever constructed in the UK.
With this new license agreement Sener continues in its line of making FORAN a major player in the field of ship design and production software particularly in the naval ships market.
