NOESIS Announces OPTIMUS 5.3 Release

The new OPTIMUS 5.3 release provides the complete implementation of the Taguchi method and introduces the capability of composing nested workflows allowing for the simplification of complex engineering processes. This is complemented with a new execution management mechanism dedicated to high performance computing environments, a new algorithm for multi-objective optimization and several usability enhancements.

"Companies face a large array of product design and manufacturing challenges today. They need to deliver innovation and quality but at the same time, they have to cut product development costs and get to the market faster. This puts pressure on engineering design analysis teams to study more design alternatives and validate them earlier in the design process and in a shorter amount of time" says Mr. Nick Tzannetakis, CTO of Noesis Solutions. "To address multi-disciplinary advanced studies, involving large workflows, OPTIMUS 5.3 introduces new nesting workflow capabilities along with a new streamlined execution management mechanism allowing for a significant reduction on the time to capture and validate these complex engineering processes.

As the quality requirements and customer expectations increase, device manufacturers from all industries are left with two options. Either develop more stringent inspection and testing methods on physical prototypes or improve the product design and the process capabilities to decrease product variability in the early stages of the product development process.

To frontload the engineering procedures and simultaneously incorporate the ability to take into account design and manufacturing related variability of material, operating conditions, use and aging factors, OPTIMUS 5.3 provides a comprehensive and complete implementation of Taguchi method. "By adopting this technology, OPTIMUS 5.3 is capable to analyze highly sophisticated engineering problems and increase the robustness of a design significantly by tracking the optimum settings of design parameters, taking into account ambient noise variability" says Mr. Hans Wynendaele, President and COO of Noesis solutions.

OPTIMUS 5.3 is yet another step forward in providing the most comprehensive tool in process integration and design optimization solution with unique functionalities in addressing Quality engineering.
