Alenia Aeronautica to Standardize on Siemens PLM Software's Teamcenter for Product Lifecycle Management
Siemens PLM Software announced that Alenia Aeronautica, the leading Italian aerospace company, following a comprehensive evaluation process, selected Teamcenter® software as its Product Lifecycle Management platform. Teamcenter replaces Alenia's existing solution and a number of legacy systems, thus lowering the company's total cost of ownership for PLM software.
Teamcenter will be used by Alenia Aeronautica to unify all new product development and introduction activities into a single source of product and process knowledge, bridging the gap between the product design and manufacturing departments. Instant collaboration, configuration management and integration with manufacturing are the main focus areas of the initial project. Teamcenter will enable Alenia Aeronautica to share product and technology information with hundreds of key employees at multiple locations, allowing the company to standardize new product development practices across the business.
