Cadence Expands in Russia
Cadence Design Systems, Inc. announced the opening of its second office in Russia, the latest in a series of strategic investments by Cadence®. The office will be located in Zelenograd, which is recognized as the center of the Russian semiconductor industry and has a rapidly growing number of startups. Employees there will focus on providing Cadence Services, and the office will serve as a center of excellence for Cadence virtual CAD services (VCAD).
Cadence Services helps mitigate the risks of delays, respins, and low yield by providing Cadence experience and expertise. The VCAD business model from Cadence Services helps companies accelerate design productivity by providing methodology and design expertise, IP, as well as training for design teams.
"We are very excited to be part of the growing ecosystem in Zelenograd," said Wolf-Ekkehard Matzke, Cadence Fellow in charge of the Services business in EMEA. "Our services are available for creating, implementing, and maintaining production design environments. These services enable our customers to speed up their adoption of the most advanced technologies and to get their products to the market faster."
"By opening an office in Zelenograd, Cadence is demonstrating its determination to be an integral part of our innovation ecosystem," said Gennady Krasnikov, general director of JSC Mikron, a leading fab in Russia. "Locating in Zelenograd puts Cadence in close touch to leading Russian IC developers and manufacturers. We are looking forward to working closely with Cadence in the future."
In 2004, Cadence became the first electronic design automation (EDA) company to open a research and development center in Moscow. The company now employs more than 140 engineers to develop technologies that raise the standard of Russian electronic design excellence.
Last month, Cadence was named one of the best employers in Russia.
