Call For Entries: - PTC® DesignQuest Challenge
PTC, The Product Development Company®, today announced the opening of the 2nd annual PTC DesignQuest Challenge. Sponsored by the PTC Global Education Program, the worldwide design competition gives students the opportunity to showcase their achievements in product design using PTC Pro/ENGINEER or Pro/DESKTOP. The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2008.
The competition is open to individual students and student teams attending academic institutions that are currently enrolled in the PTC Global Education Program. Each contestant must be a registered student in the 2007-2008 school-year. In addition, the contestants must be sponsored by a teacher at their school.
Submission Categories
• Secondary School
• Post Secondary (above grade level 12, college/university students)
Each submission must include a short description of the design, the problem it solves (or how it improves upon existing products), and why it is important. Five finalists will be selected from each category. A panel of judges from the PTC/USER community (www.ptcuser.org) will evaluate the finalists and choose 1 Grand Prize winner in each category.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
• Solves Unique or Defined Problem
• Innovative Design
• Design Quality
• Complexity of Design
• Feasibility of Solution
• Ergonomics/Ease of Use
• Aesthetics/Style
Prizes include:
• Grand Prizes (2) of $1000 USD
• Seats of Pro/ENGINEER for student's school
• Secondary School Winner- 35 seats of Pro/ENGINEER Schools Advanced Edition
• University Winner - Annual site license of the University Edition
• Inclusion in local and worldwide press materials about the award
• Additional Cash/Prizes will be awarded to all finalists
• PTC hats
All registered users who submit a contest entry will receive a certificate of recognition for participating in the competition.
