COADE Releases PV Elite® 2007 Pressure Vessel Software With the Latest Updates, New Codes and Time Saving Capabilities
COADE, Inc. has released PV Elite Version 2007, an enhanced edition of the company's integrated vessel design and stress analysis software that incorporates the latest ASME code updates, including all of the formula and material changes required for new construction beginning in 2007, plus a number of new capabilities and features.
The new version now provides built-in computation of maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) for both sides of heat exchangers, thereby saving time and reducing guesswork. Also added are new wind and seismic codes, eliminating the time-consuming task of computing these loads by hand and importing them manually into the program, which reduces the chance for errors. Also in PV Elite 2007, you can import nozzle loads automatically and directly from COADE's CAESAR II pipe stress analysis software, doing away with a manual task while saving time and ensuring accuracy. It also provides easier ways to compute local stresses for different loading categories to better comply with end-user requirements. Stress multipliers can now be used on any individual load case component. This allows users to scale stresses to meet end-user or jurisdictional requirements.
Other enhancements in PV Elite 2007 include a new feature that allows vessels designed and evaluated for vertical service to also be analyzed in the horizontal position. This permits analysis based on transportation to be conducted without re-entering the vessel design criteria, making saddle and transportation support calculations fast and with minimal effort. Also, the EN-13445 and PD 5500 material databases have been entirely reconstructed and many new materials added. These database improvements save the user from having to research and purchase material specifications in order to determine stress values.
PV Elite designs and evaluates pressure vessels and their components in accordance with ASME BPVC, PD 5500 and EN 13445. PV Elite provides engineers, designers, estimators, fabricators and inspectors with complete design of tall towers, horizontal vessels, "pots and pans" and individual vessel components. The software was designed for quick start up, and its graphical modeling capabilities are easy to use and allow for quick data assembly and vessel analysis. As is the case with all its software products, COADE has tested PV Elite using its stringent quality assurance (QA) standards and backs the software with a trained team of software engineers and program developers.
