AVEVA Announces Agenda for ISEIT Americas 2007

AVEVA announced the agenda for its 8th annual International Symposium for Engineering IT (ISEIT) Americas, a two-day executive conference for Owner Operators and Engineering/Procurement/Construction firms that examines both the business and technical challenges of building and maintaining engineering assets. ISEIT Americas occurs October 22-23, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas, and is co-located with ViewPoint Americas, an independent AVEVA user group meeting, October 23-24, 2007.

Dr. Sid Snitkin, Vice President of a leading research and advisory firm in plant, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions, will present both the Opening Day Keynote and host an executive roundtable discussion. Dr. Snitkin's keynote address, "Invest in Better Plant Lifecycle Management - The Returns Are Worth It!" will discuss Plant Information Lifecycle Management in the context of how improving collaboration can help Owner Operators drive higher performance from their assets.

Dr. Snitkin will also moderate a roundtable discussion entitled, "Design-Operate-Maintain" that will explore issues surrounding engineering information management and handover. Panelists will include representatives from Owner Operator and Engineering firms, as well as experts from education and industry, such as Dr. Ric Jackson, executive director of FIATECH.

The Day Two industry keynote will be presented by Dr. Lewis "Ed" Link, the expert in engineering research, strategic planning and policy. Dr. Link directed the Interagency Performance Evaluation Task Force that performed the Hurricane Katrina Flood Protection analysis, and received a 2006 "Award of Excellence/Top 25 Newsmakers" award from Engineering News Record Magazine in recognition of his work. Dr. Link's industry perspective will center on information and technology issues and lessons learned from the extensive forensic analysis of the impact of Hurricane Katrina, and how that knowledge can be applied to develop a system for assessing and mitigating risk on new and existing assets.

In addition to the industry keynotes, ISEIT Americas 2007 will feature business and technology updates with AVEVA's executive team, partners such as Microsoft, and customer case studies. The conference will conclude with the "Engineering Excellence to the Extreme" awards ceremony, which highlights challenging projects engineered by AVEVA customers with AVEVA solutions.
