ILOG and Wipro Form Strategic Alliance to Deliver Software Solutions that Simplify Complex Business Applications
ILOG® and Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited , today announced that they have formed a strategic alliance, where Wipro will incorporate ILOG's Business Rules Management System (BRMS) products into its application development process. Wipro will also leverage ILOG's other product lines, namely its supply chain planning and scheduling applications, as well as optimization and visualization software components. Through this alliance, ILOG and Wipro will share business and technical expertise to help customers improve business decision-making, bring solutions to market faster, optimize business processes and manage product life-cycle development.
Wipro will also create a dedicated ILOG Center of Excellence (COE) for selling and implementing BRMS applications. ILOG will provide Wipro with access to its technology and training services and will work with Wipro to integrate its products into Wipro's services offerings. Initial projects include integrating ILOG Jrules®, a key offering in ILOG's BRMS product line into Wipro's product lifecycle management (PLM) solution for a major tire manufacturer.

ILOG has been an industry leader in business rules management space since 1992 providing solutions that automate business policies in custom and composite business applications and lower application maintenance costs, facilitating more accurate and consistent business policy implementation across applications, and improving collaboration between an organization's business and IT departments.
Wipro offers unique solutions in the BRMS space, which is a strategic focus area for its Enterprise Business Integration practice. The solutions have gained immense client acceptance as they are built viewing client requirements from a practitioner's approach. Wipro has established a dedicated practice utilizing consulting and product implementation expertise on ILOG. Wipro offers end-to-end BRMS expertise ranging from rules assessment, rules harvesting, rules mining, consulting, implementation, support and maintenance.
For another joint project, Wipro is creating a solution using the ILOG CPLEX(R) optimization engine to optimize the scheduling and slotting of advertising space for a market-leading media and entertainment client. ILOG is a leader in the field of optimization technology and ILOG's solutions are used by more than 1,000 commercial customers to solve challenging planning and scheduling problems. Wipro will also use Visualization, ILOG's third product line, to create sophisticated graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to enhance decision making, speed and ability by making vast quantities of complex data more comprehensible and manageable for users.
