Weyerhaeuser Company Selects HP for Global IT Services Deal

HP today announced it has signed a seven-year global IT services contract to run, manage and support the distributed IT environment of Weyerhaeuser Company, an international forest products company.

Under the contract, HP will provide Weyerhaeuser a single point of contact for client and server management, software and storage management, business continuity and availability and disaster recovery solutions, as well as mission-critical technical support and lifecycle management services. In addition, to support Weyerhaeuser's end-user workplace environment, HP will provide End-User Workplace Solutions such as its Global Service Desk services and desktop, mobile and messaging solutions.

As part of the HP Service Management solution portfolio, HP also will provide standard information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) processes, including services such as help desk, infrastructure management, monitoring and management tools.

Moving forward, HP will work collaboratively with Weyerhaeuser to develop its technology roadmap and be responsible for implementing associated IT initiatives.

"We're thrilled to work with Weyerhaeuser on this important initiative and pleased that the strength and reputation of HP Services, as well as our strong cultural compatibility, provided the foundation for this deal," said John E. Evers, Jr., vice president and general manager, Outsourcing Services-Americas, HP. "Our comprehensive, collaborative and flexible customer-oriented approach and our proven track record in providing distributed IT services across large organizations should help Weyerhaeuser optimize and aggregate its business to reduce costs and improve scalability."
