New Technology Training Center for SolidCAM in the Czech Republic

SolidCAM announced the opening of a new Technology Training Center ("TTC") in the Czech Republic. The main purpose of the TTC is to provide the industry with advanced technical support and services for the manufacturing of complex parts. This covers the complete range of milling applications with special focus on 5-axis indexial and simultaneous machining.

The Technology Training Center is located in Brno, the industrial heart of Moravia, and is an organizational division of SolidVision, s.r.o., the authorized reseller of SolidCAM and SolidWorks for the Czech Republic. The TTC is equipped with a Hermle C20 5-axis machine tool and the full range of the SolidCAM+SolidWorks software, so that complex CAD/CAM jobs can be processed and optimized. The TTC will offer training courses for operators and programmers, related to parts manufacturing, taking into account the whole manufacturing process chain. Furthermore, the highly skilled experts of the TTC will assist SolidVision`s customers to develop and fine tune new dedicated machining procedures. The overall target is to improve the productivity of the manufacturing processes for complex parts. The TTC, which has been established with the funding of the European Community, will be managed by Zbynek Jerabek, a SolidCAM Certified Professional. The opening ceremony of the innovative "Technology Training Center" was held on June 5, 2007, in Brno (Czech Republic).

Ivan Cimr, Managing Director of SolidCAM Czech Republic, stated, "Our Aerospace and Automotive industries especially demand more and more complex parts. Therefore, the use of the 5-axis machining technology is growing enormously in our region. There is a need for qualified technicians who can successfully apply the sophisticated tools. The TTC will promote the advanced features of the SolidCAM software and thus support the SolidCAM sales in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. With the help of our high-end technology we can provide the best possible support for our customers." Wolfgang Mueller, SolidCAM´s Vice President of Sales in Europe, added, "Today, the manufacturing industry worldwide is investing heavily in 5-axis machine tools. The return of these investments strongly depends on the productivity, which can be achieved by complementing the expensive CNC machines with CAM software and expert know-how. The TTC project is a good example of how this can be accomplished."
