BlueCielo Unveils InnoCielo 2007 Software Suite: A New Generation of Engineering Content Management Solutions
BlueCielo ECM Solutions (formerly Cyco Software) announced at its annual Americas User & Reseller Conference that it has released the new InnoCielo 2007 product suite comprising of InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise and InnoCielo TeamWork. This marks the first release of BlueCielo's popular ECM product suite under its new InnoCielo brand (formerly known as AutoManager). InnoCielo 2007 comes packed full of major new features that will help companies to effectively and securely share engineering content throughout the enterprise. InnoCielo subscribers will be among the first to receive the new software.
With the important changes that have shaped new political realities in China, India, Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, the meteoric rise of international communications and intensifying global trade, the world has truly become a global village. New Features in InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise 2007
BlueCielo's flagship ECM solution, InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise 2007, now comes feature-packed with Advanced Document Workflow (ADWF), the Open BriefCase, boosted performance and support for the latest CAD software.
1. Advanced Document Workflow (ADWF)
ADWF offers a rich set of workflow features that can be implemented through configuration. Features such as configurable workflow, parallel review, logging and email notification allow for complex workflow implementations without the need to resort to programming. ADWF has been developed in response to InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise being used more and more in ever-larger implementations in the asset management environment where advanced workflow features have become much more important. This major product enhancement also meets increasing regulatory demands for more stringent document management procedures (design, implementation and auditability).
2. Open BriefCase
The BriefCase feature now provides an additional industry standard format to exchange CAD files and assemblies (and other documents) with associated meta-data and references between sites or engineering teams. The Open BriefCase format (a ZIP archive) does not require the receiver to have InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise, InnoCielo TeamWork or InnoCielo View in place to use it and to return an updated BriefCase. This enables document exchange with external parties and other document management systems. Instead of a ZIP archive other formats can also be plugged in.
3. Enhanced Performance
InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise 2007 now also supports more documents, more concurrent users and offers significantly improved performance (dramatically faster data access and vault searches) in the most demanding environments with large vaults of 2GB and over. The InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise server needs to be equipped with more than 4GB of memory to make use of this new feature.
4. Upgraded CAD Support
InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise 2007 also comes with updated application integration support for:
• Microsoft Office 2007
• AutoCAD 2008
• Autodesk Inventor 2008
• AutoCAD Mechanical 2008
• AutoCAD P&ID 2007
• Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2008
• SolidWorks 2007 for Windows Vista
5. Other Features
InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise 2007 includes many smaller enhancements and improvements, including:
• Security on navigation views
• Memo properties are searchable in the same way as string properties
• The memory consumption of the recovery log is dramatically reduced
• Microsoft Vista support for IC Meridian Enterprise clients
• A Microsoft Installer (MSI) package for the installation of IC Meridian Enterprise desktop clients
In InnoCielo TeamWork 2007, BlueCielo's software product targeted at engineering workgroups, a main new feature is Full-Text Search using Microsoft Index Server technology.
