Jetta Drives Innovation and Growth Strategy with PTC Product Development System
PTC announced that Jetta Company Limited , a world leading consumer electronics OEM manufacturer has adopted Windchill® for strategic product lifecycle management (PLM). Windchill, the PTC content and process management solution, enables collaborative product development while helping companies control processes. As a long-time user of PTC's Pro/ENGINEER®, the selection of Windchill extends Jetta's existing relationship with PTC and allows Jetta to benefit from an integral product development system. Jetta has used PTC Pro/ENGINEER as its standard 3D CAD/CAM/CAE software for product design since the 1990s, enabling a rapid transfer of innovative ideas into successful products.
As Jetta's business grew, so did their requirements for enhanced communication between project managers and engineers. Specifically, Jetta wanted to allow enterprise data sharing, create a centralized information repository and reduce process cycle time. Building on its long and successful partnership with PTC and based on PTC's expertise in product development and history as a trusted advisor, Jetta decided to augment its engineering infrastructure by adding PTC Windchill. The deployment project which includes planning, business process consulting, solution architecture design, project management, implementation, training and rollout, is being performed by PTC Global Services.
Using PTC Solutions, Jetta has been able to reduce project costs, minimize the potential for human error, and improve collaboration among different departments to increase operating efficiency. "Jetta's business growth globally is creating greater need for strong internal and external customer collaboration. By adopting Windchill as a common software platform capable of integrating with the range of product design systems used by our customers, we will be able to synchronize our internal processes and adopt best practice while retaining the flexibility to meet the needs of our customers," said Kenneth Wong, director of Manufacturing, Jetta Company Limited.
