Sequence Names William Ruby VP, Product And Applications Engineering

Sequence Design announced it has named longtime EDA and semiconductor veteran William Ruby to the newly created post of vice president, product and applications engineering.

Ruby will work closely with Sequence sales and engineering staffs to grow sales, as well as define the most critical customer needs to help guide product development and increase user satisfaction.

Prior to joining Sequence, Ruby was vice president of sales, applications, and marketing at Golden Gate Technology. In his 20-year career, he has worked with several leading companies including Intel, Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens, both as a marketeer and low-power digital, analog, and memory semiconductor designer. He holds an MBA from San Jose State, a bachelor's degree in physics from UC Berkeley, and a master's degree in electrical engineering from USC.

"Will is the ideal person to provide leadership in this new role," said Vic Kulkarni, Sequence president and CEO. "His long experience in both EDA and the design world, as well as extensive low-power expertise, lend a unique perspective that will help us better define the needs of the customer and exceed their expectations."

"I am absolutely thrilled to be back at Sequence with its sharp focus on low power," Ruby said. "Over the many years that I have spent in the low-power design and EDA area, I have seen that dealing with daunting power challenges in complex designs requires a solid low-power design methodology, complemented by best-in-class EDA solutions for power analysis and optimization, and as the EDA technology leader in power, Sequence delivers."
