ENGINEERING.com Announces New Release of its Web-Based PLM Solution

ENGINEERING.com Inc. announced the release of the latest enhancement package for its web-based PLM Solution, Collaboration Suite. This latest release lets users track and report on the many product variables that make each product unique. These features in turn drive enhanced executive reporting.

Collaboration Suite is a team-based collaboration environment for bringing products to market faster. Complete with online document management, project management, CAD model viewing, web-conferencing and supplier management, ENGINEERING.com Collaboration Suite helps companies manage their new and custom product launches across distributed design and manufacturing teams.

David Kinsel, Engineering Team Leader for the Calphalon division of Newell Rubbermaid, described how his team is using these new features, "The enhanced data section captures key information we use to manage our new product development efforts. This new functionality is flexible and really easy to set up and organize. Project managers can now run reports that span all of their projects and capture what is needed for status update meetings."

John Hayes, President of ENGINEERING.com adds, "Many of our customers are managing hundreds of products from the quotation stage through to manufacturing. With these new tracking features, engineering managers can now quickly sort through the long list of projects on their desktop to prioritize and action critical tasks."

Collaboration Suite is available from ENGINEERING.com as a hosted solution. Customers, suppliers and consultants need only have Internet access to participate in their product development projects. The hosted environment has proven to be very quick to deploy and highly flexible for licensing. New enhancements such as this release are automatically available to all users without any action required on the part of customers.
