Design Automation Conference Launches Mobile Web Site
The Design Automation Conference (DAC) has launched a mobile version of the DAC Web site. Part of the conference organizers' ongoing investment in innovation, the new mobile-enabled DAC Web site was created to make it easy for conference attendees, exhibitors and presenters to conveniently access conference information from their mobile devices. The 44th DAC will be held at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif., June 4-8, 2007.
The mobile DAC Web site contains a listing of exhibitors and booth numbers, the complete program in summary form and organized by day, as well as useful phone numbers and details on local transportation, hotels, and restaurants in the San Diego area. The site is accessible at http://www.dac.com/mobile ; in addition, users accessing http://www.dac.com/ can enter a mobile phone number to receive a text message with a link to the mobile-enabled version of the Web site.
"This is definitely the year to introduce a mobile site. In the last six to eight months, the major U.S. cellular providers have introduced 3G and WiFi-enabled cell phones and PDAs; worldwide, phones are equipped for fast data. Our attendees are people who always carry their mobile devices with them, and we're working hard to be sure that's all they have to carry to keep informed of what's happening at DAC," said Steve Levitan, general chair of the 44th annual DAC. "Our goal was to make the mobile Web site both fast and useful, so we made careful decisions regarding the information included. We are looking forward to feedback from our users this year on what more they would like to see for next year."
