Leo A Daly Selects Avatech Solutions as National Training Provider

Avatech Solutions, Inc., the nationwide technology experts for design, engineering, and facilities management, announced today a national contract to provide comprehensive training solutions for Leo A Daly, a full-service architecture, planning, engineering and interior design firm. Avatech will provide training across the country for the company's architects and structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers.

With more than 1,200 design professionals in 22 offices in 16 cities worldwide, this 'top 100' Engineering News Record firm is standardizing on a building information management (BIM) platform based on the Autodesk Revit family of software. The firm is working to implement new standards based on existing ones in combination with the emerging standards published by the National BIM Standards Group.

"Avatech has already propelled us from traditional drafting systems to the latest in design technology in order to gain the advantages of building information modeling," said Stephen Held, Chief Information Officer at Leo A Daly. "The transition to BIM opened a window for us to create a new set of standards and practices across all disciplines and offices. My goal with this training is to ensure that our professionals learn the technology and the 'Leo A Daly' way at the same time, reducing the impact of training on production time and optimizing productivity. Avatech's ability to provide flexible training using our workflows -- not a 'canned' set of exercises -- combined with their ability to work across disciplines allows us to create a culture that fosters a streamlined set of best practices across disciplines and locations."

Avatech's Autodesk-certified experts will provide flexible process-based training based on real projects to ensure Leo A Daly gets the best return on their training investment. Employees will learn using the same tools and set up as they would use in their regular production environment.

"It is Avatech's goal to eliminate the challenges our clients have when they move towards BIM, whether those challenges are culture changes or process changes," said Bruce White, Vice President of Sales at Avatech. "Incorporating the client's standards, developing a consistent message throughout the organization, and understanding the corporate 'end goal' is critical to a successful BIM implementation. This allows the client to gain a quick return on investment, and most importantly, continue to obtain market share and remain competitive in their industry."
