Noran Engineering and UGS Corporation Expand Business Relationship in CAE Software

Noran Engineering, Inc. ( NEi ) announced that it is expanding its business relationship with UGS Corp. of Plano, TX. NEi's status will change from OEM Supplier to full UGS Channel Partner. The change means NEi will market, sell, distribute, support, and service UGS' portfolio of engineering software used for computer-aided analysis and simulation e.g. Femap® from the UGS Velocity SeriesT and NX® Nastran software. NEi previously distributed Femap though an OEM agreement under the brand name NEiModeler.

Noran Engineering brings to this partnership its global depth of expertise in Nastran FEA applications, markets, technical support, and training programs. The announcement further solidifies the long standing distribution arrangement between the two companies and sets the stage for new initiatives on collaborative efforts to further develop and promote Femap as the premier pre- and post-processing tool in the FEA global market. The companies have agreed to leverage their strengths and put in place cooperative programs that will enhance Femap's simulation capabilities and technical support, expand brand awareness, increase market share, and grow sales revenue.

Dave Weinberg, CEO of Noran Engineering, commented on the agreement: "The FEA industry is experiencing fundamental business changes. Customers want to know that they are choosing suppliers committed to software platforms, technical support, and training that will keep them at the technological forefront in a globally competitive environment."

Jason Watkins, vice president of Americas Channels UGS, adds: "The agreement reflects our understanding that in today's business environment it takes a strong well-coordinated team of technologically savvy, dedicated, and innovative partners like Noran Engineering to provide our customers with superior simulation tools and responsive support."
