New - TriCorn Version 6.1 for Profitable and Productive Job Management

TriCorn Systems is launching Version 6.1 of its Job Processing Software. The key enhancements are tools for managing multiple currencies, the complete integration of its scheduling package, and flexible price bands which can be tailored to the requirements of each order and customer.

The trend towards globalisation has greatly increased the frequency of international trade. TriCorn's software can import exchange rate data, which will enable the user to keep up to date with money market fluctuations. The system can then recalculate costs, quotations, and invoices into local currencies using the latest rates, which will make conducting international business activities significantly easier. Links to other software packages such as Sage will consolidate the data to provide an accurate record of transactions.

Integrating the scheduler into the TriCorn Job Processing Software is a major enhancement. Both packages now share the same database, making updates to the production plan occur in real time. Changes to the job, such as resources used, estimated machining times and due dates are all immediately reflected in the scheduler, while alterations in the scheduler such as late raw material deliveries or actual hours worked are immediately shown in the Job Processing Software. This bi-directional communication allows the user to instantly see the delivery status of each job by highlighting overdue items and parts which are approaching their due dates. This new functionality makes it easy to produce a range of live and flexible reports, which can be tailored to suit the requirements of each company, helping it to achieve its production targets.

The new price banding tools will help TriCorn's users to tailor volume discounts and price adjustments to suit individual customers. The added flexibility will assist in maximising the number of successful quotations. Version 6.1 also benefits from additional information which enables jobs to be categorised more effectively. Nominal codes, long description fields and order type can be used to tag the individual part, making it possible to analyse results against different market sectors, and types of component.

Mass printing of job cards has been included in the new version. The ability to print all the cards in one operation will significantly speed up their creation. Furthermore, data packs covering components and assemblies are now all grouped together to including documentation such as specifications and diagrams. By collating this production information, TriCorn ensures that the shop floor receives comprehensive instructions which will help to improve quality and maximise profitability.

A British company based in Farnham, Surrey, TriCorn Systems is the developer of TriCorn Job Processing Software, TriCorn ISO 9001 Quality Management System and TriCorn RTS graphical scheduling and production planning system and is also a Microsoft Partner. Used by hundreds of companies across the UK, the software packages are aimed at increasing productivity and profitability for SMEs by providing accurate information about business processes. The company first launched its Job Processing Software in 1989, and since then has had a continual programme of development, fuelled by close collaboration with its customers.
