CooperVision Deploys Agile PLM Quality Analytics to Manage Product Quality Globally

Agile Software Corporation announced that CooperVision, one of the world's leading manufacturers of contact lenses, has deployed Agile's quality analytics capability as part of its Agile Product Quality Management (PQM) deployment. Running Agile PQM as its global quality solution since 2006, CooperVision recently deployed the PQM quality analytics functionality to take advantage of Agile's analytics capabilities to proactively manage product quality across the global enterprise and present actionable insight related to product quality. Since implementing Agile PQM, CooperVision has experienced tremendous productivity gains, including a 30 percent reduction of average days to close complaints, which has significantly reduced the number of complaints open for more than 30 days.

"The Agile PQM solution is helping to enable CooperVision's mission to deliver high quality products worldwide," said Christine Moench, vice president, regulatory affairs and quality assurance, CooperVision. "With on-demand visibility of product quality data and process intelligence, we can now benchmark and manage the performance of our global quality operations across our portfolio of products and business units, and separate true high-risk actionable items from the distractions of multiple data points coming through each day."

The Agile PQM solution with advanced analytics capabilities drives improved product quality and customer satisfaction by tightly integrating customer, product, quality and regulatory information within a closed-loop corrective action system. The solution delivers 100+ reports with multi-dimensional analysis capabilities on-demand and in real-time. Since deploying the Agile PQM analytics functionality, CooperVision has experienced early gains, including a reduction in the monthly reporting time from three days to one hour.

"The implementation of Agile Analytics has allowed us to disseminate quality information to a much wider audience," said Bryan Horrocks, manager, global quality systems, CooperVision. "But with Agile's business-ready solution, we're not only able to use this as a tool for data driven decisions, but also as an everyday business management tool for the entire company. No other PLM vendors we looked at offered this capability out of the box."

"The damage to a brand resulting from product quality issues is costly for any company, but even more critical for those in the highly regulated medical device industry," said Jay Fulcher, Agile CEO and president. "The ability of PLM analytics to sift through quality data, and to recognize and alert an organization to critical issues is increasingly becoming an imperative to companies, like CooperVision, who wish to proactively manage product quality and protect their reputation."
