Emerging Display Technologies Adopts PTC Product Development System
PTC announced that Emerging Display Technologies (EDT), the leader in the visual display market with ISO certified manufacturing facilities, is adopting the PTC Product Development System including Pro/ENGINEER®, Windchill PDMLinkT, Windchill ProjectLinkT and Pro/INTRALINK®. EDT is based in Taiwan and is a leading pioneer in the LCD industry. The company has worldwide operations and serves marquee customers such as LG and Lexmark.
EDT required a system that could offer external communications with customers, improve the quality control of product development and provide collaborative design without the associated risks. After a complete evaluation of leading PLM providers, EDT chose PTC. EDT based their selection on PTC's ability to supply them with an end-to-end, integral PLM solution that offers advanced functionality and top-notch professional services. EDT plans to finalize the implementation by May 31, 2007 and estimates that PTC solutions will lead to a 20% decrease in new product development time as well as an aggregate savings of US$625,000 every year.
