Catalog Data Solutions Adopts Lattice Technology's XVL products in 3D Part Catalog Service

Lattice Technology, Inc. announced that Catalog Data Solutions (CDS) has adopted Lattice's XVL technology to enable its On-Demand 3D Spare Parts Catalog solution.

Catalog Data Solutions (CDS) specializes in On-Demand software solutions for Industrial manufacturers and distributors. CDS software solutions include interactive online catalogs, product configurators, 3D Spare Part Catalogs, and 3D CAD Drawing downloads. CDS Solutions help manufacturers to grow sales, reduce support costs, and strengthen customer loyalty by simplifying the selection and purchase of standard and configured products. The company leverages 3D data directly into their online catalog solution to enable the efficient selection of engineered and aftermarket parts. CDS has built its latest product - CDS 3D Spare Part Catalog around Lattice's XVL viewer to enable both 2D and 3D selection of spare parts for all types of industrial machines.

Lattice's XVL technology is a 3D publishing technology that provides state-of-the-art compression rates of more than 97% on massive 3D files, so they can be easily shared, viewed and used in downstream processes.

"This is an ideal application of XVL," said Hiroshi Toriya, CEO of Lattice Technology Inc. "XVL is extremely web-friendly which means that 3D data that would normally be retained in proprietary formats can be seen, used and leveraged for online sales and purchasing systems such as this."

"The superb compression of XVL was a major aspect of our choice to adopt XVL," said John Major, CEO of Catalog Data Solutions. "XVL means we can include massive 3D assemblies in the parts catalogs that would have previously been too massive to handle in online applications. The ease of use for people using our CDS 3D Spare Part is now second-to-none."

CDS is also using Lattice's applications to assist with the creation of 3D Spare Part Catalogs for their customers: using the XVL Converters the company can rapidly convert their existing 3D CAD for use with the 3D Spare Part Catalog. CDS itself also supports almost any type of 3D CAD format supplied from its customers.

"The release of the CDS 3D Spare Part Catalog means that even the smallest manufacturers can consider utilizing tools such as this," added Major. "This could not have occurred without Lattice's XVL technology."

The CDS 3D Spare Part Catalog solution is available now from Catalog Data Solutions.
