International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design Engages IP and Design for Manufacturing Communities
The seventh annual International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED) announced keynote speeches by industry leaders and experts from Nokia, Samsung, Synopsys, Toshiba and TSMC who will discuss critical issues surrounding quality in electronic design. The conference is being held on March 27-29, 2006 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, CA.
ISQED also announced two high-powered panel discussion sessions, where leading experts address the important issue of quality design. These panels will focus on the following topics:
Soft IP Quality: Who is really responsible for quality throughout the design process? (Moderated by Ron Wilson, Executive Editor, EDN)
Power management and optimization challenges for sub 90nm CMOS Designs - What is the real cost of long battery life? (Moderated by Mike Santarini, Executive Editor, EETimes)
Multiple tutorials will also be available for those who desire in-depth, interactive, and focused insight into the various aspects of electronic design. These tutorials include:
Emerging Nanometer Technologies and Variability and its Impact on Design
Emerging Technologies for VLSI Designs
"The ISQED conference is an integral part of establishing a communication link between all semiconductor disciplines such as design, manufacturing, and test," said Raul Camposano, Chief Technology Officer and General Manager at Synopsys and ISQED keynote speaker. "The ISQED focus is on current challenges in achieving quality of design and design methodologies, and provides insight into future trends and related issues."

List of exhibiting companies include: ARM, Cadence, KLA-Tencor, LSI Logic, Mentor Graphics, OPS A La Carte, PDF Solutions, Sagantec, Simucad Design Automation, SVTI, Synopsys, and Veritools.
ABOUT ISQED
The International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED) is a Manufacturing, Design & Design Automation conference, aimed at bridging the gap among electronic design tools and processes, integrated circuit technologies, processes & manufacturing, to achieve design quality. ISQED is the pioneer and leading conference dealing with design for manufacturability and quality (DFM, DFQ) issues front-to-back. The conference attendees are primarily designers of the VLSI circuits & systems (IP & SoC), process/device technologists, semiconductor manufacturing specialists including equipment vendors, and those involved in the R&D and application of EDA Tools & design flows. ISQED emphasizes a holistic approach toward design quality and intends to highlight and accelerate cooperation among the IC Design, EDA, Semiconductor Process Technology and Manufacturing communities. The conference spans three days, Monday through Wednesday, in three parallel tracks, hosting over 100 technical papers, six keynote speakers, two panel discussions, workshops /tutorials and other informal meetings. ISQED proceedings are published by IEEE Computer Society and hosted in the digital library. Proceedings CD ROMs are published by ACM. ISQED 2006 is held in technical sponsorship of IEEE EDS, IEEE CPMT, and in cooperation with ACM/SigDA. The conference is produced and sponsored by the International Society for Quality Electronic Design.
