Texas Giant Vistawall Group Contracts Avatech Solutions

Avatech Solutions, Inc. announced its Manufacturing Solutions Group has won a significant contract with The Vistawall Group.

"Avatech's real-world technical expertise and ability to understand our business needs, made the decision to work with Avatech an easy one," said Milton Kelsey, Engineering Systems Manager at Vistawall. "Avatech's national support center and technical resources across the nation means we'll always have an answer to even our toughest questions."

"Business is booming for manufacturing companies like Vistawall who provide construction-related products following the global construction upswing," said Scott Hale, Manufacturing Solutions Group Manager at Avatech. "At the same time, design technologies that aid in the process of manufacturing and engineering are rapidly evolving, making it tough for companies to stay ahead of the curve. This is where Avatech focuses."

Avatech's Dallas team played the lead role in securing the contract to provide data management, custom application development, training and consulting for the Texas-based manufacturer, recognized worldwide for its innovative architectural products, including window systems, skylight systems, and translucent walls.

"Our capacity to produce innovative designs more efficiently depends directly on our ability to harness new design technologies--which is where Avatech comes in," said Kelsey. "We've made a lot of CNC shop floor investments over the last six years. Now it's time to get the design from engineering and into the shop at a pace that keeps up with the new manufacturing capacities."

The Autodesk Inventor based system gives Vistawall the ability to send 3D part drawings to the shop floor, providing production workers with a far superior visual description of what the part should look like when finished. In addition, designers can send model drawings to customers during the design approval stage, slashing the number of drawing iterations dramatically. "We gain the advantage of viewing complicated building junctions for proper fit and can solve interference problems without having to create an expensive physical model," said Kelsey.

"As a nationwide design automation and technology services provider, we've supplied solutions to the manufacturing sector in Texas for more than 15 years," said Avatech COO Scott Harris. "We continue to increase market share by providing top companies such as Vistawall with design solutions that make them more competitive."
