CollabNet Announces Reseller Channel Program for Software as a Service (SaaS); Global Leader in Distributed Development Forms Business Partner Program to Accelerate Channel Adoption of Internet-based Software and Services

CollabNet announced that it is accelerating the channel's role in the global trend toward Internet-based software and services by establishing the CollabNet Global Business Partner Program.

The new CollabNet channel program is the industry's first partner enablement offering that specifically targets developers of Software as a Service (SaaS), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and other on-demand, Internet-based software and applications. CollabNet set the stage for the partner-driven delivery of distributed development tools and outsourcing methodologies as the primary backer, thought leader, and underwriter of the Subversion open source version control system.

"CollabNet believes the time is right for the broad adoption of distributed development methodologies-particularly as the industry is undergoing a massive shift to Software as a Service, Service Oriented Architectures, and global development projects," said Chris Clabaugh, Vice President of Business Development for CollabNet. "We have aligned our new CollabNet Global Business Partner Program to empower our channel partners with the business and technical resources they need to address their customer's needs for distributed development and rapid adoption of Web-based offerings. CollabNet, together with our valued business partners, will continue to gain significant market share of one of the most enticing markets to emerge so far this century: Distributed Development On Demand."

CollabNet is leveraging its leadership role in the growing market for next-generation distributed development and change management solutions by partnering with software change management experts and other leaders in the development of applications, embedded software, and complex systems. As the recognized leader in the movement to embrace distributed development methodologies, CollabNet is encouraging reseller, community, technology, and services organizations to partner with the company to develop their markets and deliver high-value solutions by incorporating next-generation, on-demand distributed development, and application lifecycle management services.

In a related announcement, CollabNet announced that Clearvision PLC, Europe's leading independent specialist for software change management (SCM), has become a charter member of the new CollabNet Global Business Partner Program.
