Tier-1 Automotive Supplier Albert Weber Standardizes on UGS Tecnomatix Solutions to Streamline Manufacturing Processes
UGS Corp. announced German-based Albert Weber GmbH, a division of Weber Automotive, has standardized on TecnomatixT software, UGS' digital manufacturing solution, to digitally transform production planning, cost estimation, time calculation and digital simulation.
Albert Weber, a Tier-1 supplier to all major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) globally, will use UGS' Tecnomatix to streamline the machining-processes of highly complicated powertrain components such as engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, housings and connecting rods. The company is headquartered in Markdorf; with additional locations in Neuenbürg, Germany; Esztergom, Hungaria and Charleston, S.C.
As part of Project 2010, a company-wide initiative to put Albert Weber ahead of the competition in the next five years, Albert Weber conducted a six-month evaluation for an integrated software solution to support concept planning and implementation of new manufacturing processes, especially planning, cost and time estimation and digital simulation. After an intensive evaluation process, the company selected UGS for the combined implementation of eM-Planner, eM-Plant, eM-Machining and eM-RealNC from the UGS Tecnomatix portfolio of products.
"As a Tier-1 automotive supplier our goal is to consistently enhance the quality of production planning, shorten ramp-up times, standardize our manufacturing methods and boost productivity," said Christian Weber, CEO of Albert Weber GmbH. "We selected UGS Tecnomatix solution because it is the only comprehensive solution that offers everything we need to support us today and to put us years ahead of our competitors."
"UGS Tecnomatix portfolio of products allows a medium-sized technology leader like Albert Weber to tie processes and simulation results to their respective OEMs, enhancing productivity and providing a competitive advantage," said Markus V. Hoenschel, senior sales engineer and reseller manager Tecnomatix, UGS.
