United States Air Force Streamlines Vehicle Fleet Management With MRO Software

MRO Software Inc. announced that its Maximo asset and service management solution has been purchased as part of the U.S. Air Force Logistics Integrated Asset Management System (LIAMS) initiative. The transaction was closed in MRO Software's fourth fiscal quarter, ended September 30, 2005.

Using Maximo, LIAMS will provide a modern asset management platform that will allow the Air Force to manage, maintain and operate its fleet of more than 80,000 government-owned and leased vehicles. The new, consolidated, Web-based application will operate from within the Global Combat Support System- Air Force Integration Framework (GCSS-AF IF) and will replace five legacy systems, and one modernized system, which previously were used to manage these critical assets.

LIAMS will enable the Air Force to provide improved vehicle maintenance and operations through real-time cost and asset visibility, optimized performance and operational capability and increased warranty recovery. The solution will allow predictive, versus reactive maintenance, and improved predictability and forecasting. In addition, by eliminating the cost to support and maintain six stove-piped systems, LIAMS will help the Air Force significantly decrease sustainment costs associated with their fleet management solutions.

LIAMS is the result of a joint effort by "Team MRO" which is comprised of BearingPoint, Inc., as the prime contractor and team members Anteon, CACI International and MRO Software. All four companies offer service support, while MRO Software is the sole software provider for this initiative. The Air Force made this acquisition through the LIAMS Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) that supports the efforts of the Development and Fielding Systems Group (DFSG) and is managed by the Operations and Sustainment Support Group (OSSG).

"As a long-time provider of solutions to the government and public sector we recognize that our solutions need to provide demonstrable ROI," said Mark Gruzin, director, federal sector at MRO Software. "Implementing Maximo through the LIAMS program will enable the Air Force to have complete asset visibility for its vehicles. As a result, the Air Force is able to decrease costs associated with overall vehicle management, and improve readiness decisions."

A pilot implementation, at Bolling AFB, was completed in March 2005 and continues to operate. The Air Force and Team MRO are engaged in planning efforts for the world-wide rollout to 234 locations over the next 2-3 years. The initial Maximo purchase will accommodate the planned roll out with support for 15,000 users within the vehicle management community.

Maximo Enterprise Suite, MRO Software's flagship solution, is delivered on a web-architected platform and increases productivity, optimizes asset performance, and service levels, reduces costs and enables asset-related sourcing and procurement across the entire spectrum of strategic assets.

The Company's asset management solutions allow customers to manage the complete lifecycle of strategic assets including: planning, procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance and retirement. Using MRO Software's solutions, customers improve production reliability, labor efficiency, material optimization, software license compliance, lease management, warranty and service management across the asset base.
