Altium Strengthens US Presence in Response to Customer Demand

Altium Limited, a developer of Windows-based electronics design software, announced the expansion of its US office operations with the recent appointment of Mike Stipe as Vice President of Sales, Americas, along with the establishment of Altium's Global Customer Care headquarters in US. This new appointment, in conjunction with that of Matthew Schwaiger, as Director, Global Customer Care, is in direct response to growing customer demand for Altium's products and reinforces Altium's commitment to ensuring customer success.

"We are very pleased to announce the expansion of our US operations, and to appoint Mike Stipe to lead our sales organization there," said Nick Martin, founder and CEO, Altium. "We recognize the value and importance of our US customers and Mike's passion for customer care coupled with his strong sales experience and market knowledge will contribute greatly to both Altium and our users in this region."

Mike Stipe brings to Altium over 17 years of experience in executive and management positions at both Fortune 500 and entrepreneurial technology companies. Prior experience includes: VP Sales & Marketing for Effnet, VP Sales for NonStopNet and District Manager for Motorola and most recently as Regional Sales Director at Aperture. He also serves as a board member for Unity Care Group. Mike holds a degree in Business Administration from the College of Idaho.

The establishment of Altium's Global Customer Care headquarters in the US also reflects Altium's increasing market penetration. Global Customer Care provides a top-level resource for engineers, both in the US and internationally, with direct access to Altium's R&D resources. This gives Altium customers instant access to a global team of professional and skilled support engineers who have the ability to deal with customers at a local level.

"Our success depends solely on the success of our customers," said Matthew Schwaiger, Director, Global Customer Care. "I really take that motto to heart. When someone uses Altium Designer to create a successful product, it reflects back on Altium's credibility. That's why the Global Customer Care team takes its job so seriously in helping engineers enhance their productivity and ultimately gain significant ROI in their electronic design software."

"Altium Designer is much easier to use than competing software and I can't think of another company that is anywhere close to Altium in support," said Dan Bay, President, Bay Enterprises. "The fact that Altium's Global Customer Care team monitor and respond to forums, providing almost instant assistance and support is great. Altium tools are the perfect solution for PCB designers making the transition to FPGA design. With this level of support available you can't go wrong."

Founded in 1985, Altium released the world's first Microsoft Windows-based printed circuit board design tool in 1991, and continues to provide advanced, easy-to-use and affordable software design tools for complete electronic product development to electronics engineers, designers, and developers worldwide.

Altium is headquartered in Sydney, Australia, with sales and support offices in Australia, the United States, Japan, China and Europe-as well as maintaining a large reseller network in all other major markets.
