Rand Worldwide ® Launches First CATIA User Knowledge Profile

RAND A Technology Corporation, operating as RAND Worldwide, announces that its Education Services division has added a new User Knowledge Profile (UKP) for CATIA V5 to its existing PLM Knowledge Inventory Product offering.

RAND Education Services' CATIA V5 UKP is an online evaluation tool designed to assess a user's proficiency with the software through hands-on tasks and multiple-choice questions relating to topics such as sketch, feature, and assembly creation. The tool is an ideal solution for organizations and individuals looking to evaluate their program knowledge and to further define a customized training path in order to increase software utilization and enhance productivity in the workplace.

"The adoption rate for CATIA V5 is rapidly increasing," said Joe Oswald, Executive Vice President, RAND Worldwide. "Our goal as a leading Dassault Systèmes Certified Education Partner is to assist engineers in utilizing their CATIA V5 software programs more efficiently to enable them to make more innovative products. The UKP is a valuable tool that will assist our customers to better understand their product skill levels so they can take the proper steps to become more proficient in their software usage."

When a UKP is completed users and their managers are provided with detailed reports outlining overall proficiency results and individual performance profiles, along with a focused training plan to address areas of improvement with targeted learning recommendations. RAND's targeted learning and knowledge inventory products are developed by its ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge® division. All content is available via the Internet to give users the flexibility of acquiring the skill sets they need to learn in a self-paced, online learning environment.

Additional Knowledge Inventory Products are offered by RAND including User Quizzes and User Skills Surveys for Autodesk ®, Dassault Systèmes, and PTC® software. The User Quizzes give software users the ability to measure their current knowledge of core software functionality by answering a series of technical questions. The User Skills Surveys allow users to rate their current knowledge of core functionality for their software applications to identify skill gaps before proceeding onto advanced training.

In addition to its Education Services, RAND Worldwide offers a portfolio of internally developed software products, software development, and Product Lifecycle Management consulting and implementation services.
