DesignCon 2006 serves as Silicon Valley's premier annual conference and exhibition, addressing the industry's most critical business and technical issues while bringing together thousands of design engineers, their managers, and executives for educational and networking opportunities.

Industry leaders sharing their knowledge at the event include keynote speakers Brian Halla, Chairman of the Board and CEO, National Semiconductor; Justin Rattner, Intel Senior Fellow, Director, Corporate Technology Group, Intel Corp; and T.J. Rogers, Founder, President, CEO, and Director, Cypress Semiconductors. Additional speakers include John Bourgoin, President and CEO, MIPS Technologies; Carl Guardino, President and CEO, Silicon Valley Leadership Group; Dennis Harmon, President and CEO, Zenasis Technologies; Kathryn Kranen, President and CEO, Jasper Design Automation; Christopher Rowen, President and CEO, Tensilica, Inc.; Gabriele Saucier, Chairman of the Board, Design and Reuse S.A.; and Belle Wei, Dean, San Jose State University.

New in 2006, the IEC introduces the DesignCon Management Forum. Featuring two days of panel sessions led by senior managers and executives, the forum addresses critical business and strategy issues of concern to those responsible for directing the design process.

DesignCon 2006 also hosts several co-located events, including the Si2 OpenAccess Coalition Conference and the IBIS Summit.

In addition, the second annual DesignVision Awards Ceremony recognizes technologies, applications, products, and services judged as the most unique and beneficial to the industry, many of which the exhibition floor will showcase.

To align with market trends, exhibition pavilions featuring PCB technology, semiconductor and IP technology, verification technology, and emerging technologies also occupy the floor.

DesignCon 2005 hosted more than 110 exhibiting companies and drew nearly 5,000 industry professionals to register. This year, with more than 100 sessions and tutorials, and more than 200 industry leaders to speak, DesignCon 2006 expects more than 125 companies to exhibit and more than 6,000 industry professionals to register.
