Primavera Recognizes Best Business Practices With 2005 Excellence Awards

Primavera Systems, Inc. announced the winners of the 2005 Primavera UK Excellence Awards at its annual User Meeting in London, UK. The awards are designed to reward customers that have made outstanding achievements in delivering value and efficiency to their organisations. Winners were selected from the following categories: engineering and construction; hi-tech and telecom; power, energy and process; and public sector government.

The National Health Service "Connecting for Health" received Primavera's Excellence Award for public sector government, for maximising resource allocation so that only 0.4% of its annual budget is spent on National Programme Office support personnel. Using Primavera, the Connecting for Health Programme has been able to optimise planning and reporting productivity with the minimum number of staff supporting the Agency with a total complement in excess of 1000 personnel.

London Underground Limited received the Primavera Excellence Award for engineering and construction. Using Primavera, London Underground Limited replaced several 'silo' based reporting systems with a central system for managing all programs and projects being performed by those working on the Underground network.

Ericsson was chosen as the winner of the Primavera Excellence Award for hi-tech and telecom. Using Primavera, Ericsson was able to improve resource planning, allocation and forecasting through expanded visibility into opportunities and resources.

Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) was the winner of the Primavera Excellence Award for power, energy and process. KNPC expects an annual savings of $21.5 million through the use of an integrated project management system implemented across turnaround, capital projects and routine maintenance divisions. Based on Primavera, Oracle E-business Suite and Maximo Enterprise edition, the integrated system helps to accurately forecast costs, schedules and resources throughout all phases of project planning, through project completion.

"It's great to see so many of our customers reaping the benefits of project management," said David Oates, VP international, Primavera. "These organisations have taken the time and effort to implement systems and processes that are now enabling genuine improvements to be made both in productivity and efficiency."

"The Excellence Awards honour organisations that have achieved extraordinary results through better management of people and their work processes," said Joel M. Koppelman, Primavera CEO. "We are fortunate to count many industry leaders among our diverse customer base. We congratulate and honour the 2005 Excellence Award winners for their ongoing efforts and use of Primavera to achieve great success within their respective organisations."
