Right Hemisphere Unveils New SCORM Compliant Deep Creator Authoring Software for Building Interactive 3D Training Environments

Right Hemisphere® announced the new SCORM®-compliant version of its Deep CreatorT 3D authoring software. Deep Creator software is used to author high-quality, complex, event-driven interactive 3D scenes and integrate interactive training content to produce computer-based training, simulations, architectural visualizations, virtual reality environments and video games. Right Hemisphere's Deep Creator 2.2 release provides compliance with the SCORM 1.2 (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) collection of standards and specifications, a critical requirement for the delivery of military training content via the Web. Right Hemisphere's new software release also features additional 2D widgets and 3D content authoring capabilities that further speed content authoring and overall productivity for content builders.

"When we ask our customers what they like best about Deep Creator, they say without hesitation, 'It's easy to use, for rapid courseware creation,'" said Mark Thomas, president and chief technology officer at Right Hemisphere. "With Deep Creator 2.2, we added SCORM compliance and more of the productivity enhancements our customers value so highly. Courseware and media developers who were pleased with how easy Deep Creator was to work with before will be truly delighted by the productivity gains they can realize with the new release in terms of streamlining their interactive 3D training content creation workflows and delivering SCORM compliant learning materials."

In addition to SCORM 1.2 compliance, the Deep Creator 2.2 release features:

•  Improved Web and SCORM publishing capabilities which allow users to push a button and instantly publish Deep Creator scenes directly to HTML Web pages or SCORM shared content objects;

•  New smart 2D user interface tool widgets to help streamline application building;

•  New support for pixel and vertex shaders that take advantage of advanced graphics card capabilities and make 3D worlds look more life-like;

•  Powerwall support to display interactive 3D imagery in stereo using two projectors for single screen immersive power wall displays;

•  New Lisp and C API commands to make grouping and organizing related data easier;

•  Support for the ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) interface and SQL (Structured Query Language) to communicate with relational databases such a Microsoft Office Access, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.

Deep Creator software gives Right Hemisphere customers the ability to create highly engaging, interactive video game-like training and simulation content. Right Hemisphere's flagship product, Deep ServerT, unlocks 2D and 3D engineering data used in the design of manufactured products for reuse across the entire organization. By leveraging these existing 3D assets and transforming this data into lightweight, export-friendly 3D file formats, Deep Server removes the cost barrier traditionally associated with creating rich interactive 3D training content. Deep Creator takes this process one step further, by empowering customers to author interactivity and create simulations with the transformed 3D engineering content. The resulting interactive 3D training content is more appealing, more likely to be retained, and particularly effective for teaching equipment installation and servicing procedures.

Deep Creator 2.2 is immediately available for $1,995 from the Right Hemisphere Web site or regional resellers.
