Pinion Software and Autodesk Partner to Improve the Security of Technical Data; Pinion Software Introduces AutoShred Product with Autodesk DWF Technology

Pinion Software announced the release of AutoShred-DWF to provide greater security for designs when shared electronically. Developed through the DWF Partner Program with Autodesk customers will be able to share DWF files throughout the supply chain with the ability to control the level of access users have to the data rich design files. AutoShred DWF is now available free at http://www.pinionsoftware.com/GetAutoShredDWF .

According to PriceWaterhouse Coopers 70% of a company's value is based on its intellectual property, the majority of which is technical. Yet, as manufacturers look to bring products to market faster they are sharing their designs electronically and collaborating on projects with outside consultants, engineers, and production facilities. Using AutoShred-DWF from Pinion Software utilizing the DWF platform, manufacturers have the ability to shred or erase files from viewers' computers automatically based on set command options, protecting their intellectual property.

"It is most important for companies to first protect their highest value information," advised Joyce Durst, president and CEO of Pinion Software. "Maintaining control of content-rich and complete records such as CAD files, design data and DWF intellectual property ensures companies realize productivity efficiencies without compromising their competitive position."

Pinion Software offerings allow recipients to work with technical files on the files' native application, allowing CAD and other technical files to perform operations or calculations and use real-time data without sacrificing file security. AutoShred-DWF continues Pinion Software's goal of enabling designers and manufacturers to secure sensitive information, throughout its lifecycle, from unauthorized access and use.

"Pinion Software is a natural partner for DWF since our programs share common customers," said Jonathon Knowles, Autodesk director of worldwide market development. "It is Autodesk's goal to best serve our customer needs by continuing to enable increased efficiencies throughout product lifecycles. This latest partnership is one more way we can deliver DWF versatility and functionality."

DWF is the foundation for digital design workflows. It enables designers to share accurate, data-rich design information with project teams at any point in the project lifecycle-at a fraction of the original size. By using DWF, organizations are able to efficiently and securely share 2D and 3D designs while minimizing errors, costs, and information loss through the process.
