Miami-Dade County Expands Deployment of Autodesk Solutions to Increase Productivity
Autodesk, Inc. announced it has recently signed an enterprise-wide agreement with Miami-Dade County, enabling the county to realize increased productivity and cost savings. Miami-Dade County is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country with a population base of more than two million. With more than 1,000 IT professionals on staff who are spread out over 45 IT departments, the county's IT team supports a wide array of groups and departments including the sheriff's office, airport, public works, water treatment and transit. Upgrading to the latest versions of Autodesk's geospatial, civil engineering, building and collaboration solutions enables the county to accelerate the completion of projects as efficiently as possible.
"As a public entity, we are always looking for ways to increase efficiencies and productivity," said Judi Zito, Miami-Dade County's Chief Information Officer (CIO). "By working closely with Autodesk, we were able achieve these goals as well as optimize our team's performance by giving them access to software with expanded 3D modeling and interoperability features."
The Autodesk solutions currently being used by Miami-Dade County's IT team include: Autodesk Architectural Desktop, the AutoCAD-based design and documentation software for architects and designers; Autodesk Civil 3D, a civil engineering application designed to increase productivity; Autodesk DWF Composer, the digital way to review, mark up, and revise drawings, maps, and models; Autodesk Map 3D, a tool for integrating CAD and GIS technologies; Autodesk MapGuide, the web mapping platform; and AutoCAD. The diverse and geographically-dispersed IT team will increase its collaboration and effectiveness using Autodesk solutions.
"Autodesk is pleased to expand its relationship with Miami-Dade County by providing them with a solution set that meets the demanding requirements of such a large-scale enterprise," said Carl Bass, chief operating officer of Autodesk. "As customers continue to deploy Autodesk's best-in-class 3D products and solutions, they rapidly experience operational effectiveness, productivity and enhanced communication, as demonstrated in this case."
