Formtek Integrates Spicer Software to Provide Enhanced Capabilities Further Simplifying Document Management
Formtek Inc., a provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software and implementation services, announced that it has an agreement with Spicer Corporation to integrate Spicer Corporation's Image a.XT product, further enabling the Formtek | OrionT Enterprise Content Management system to provide browser-based universal viewing capabilities for virtually any electronic document stored in the Formtek secure repository. The Image a.X integration allows Formtek software to support the viewing of files from more than 200 file formats without the need of the native authoring application.
Running as a browser plug-in of nearly the entire viewing feature set of Spicer's flagship product, Imagenation®, Image a.X seamlessly integrates the display of both simple and complex file formats alongside Formtek's search interface. This allows for rapid browsing of data across many different file types, including text documents, vector graphics, raster images, Microsoft Office and PDF formats, and 2D and 3D CAD files. "Users can easily and rapidly scroll through content and document data by using intuitive "next" and "previous" commands," said Dick Weisinger, Formtek's Chief Technologist. "The tight integration of the display of search result metadata with file viewing means fewer clicks for users, quicker access to data, and overall higher productivity", said Mr. Weisinger.
