ESI Group Announces its 64-bit Open VTOS on Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003

ESI Group demonstrated the powerful capabilities of its 64-bit Open VTOS Solution a proven engineering simulation environment initiated with PAM-CRASH, LS-DYNA, NASTRAN and RADIOSS on Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003. PAM-CRASH crash simulation solution is ported to Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition and integrates with Microsoft MPI and Job Scheduler technologies in Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003.

Open VTOS encompasses Visual Environment and all ESI Group's solvers.

Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 offers a cost-effective approach to running CAE applications, which usually require large system resources.

"We are extremely pleased about this release as it will enable our customers to benefit from the increased headroom provided by Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 and allow them to work interactively with very large models (over 4.5 millions elements) that require more than 3 to 4 Gigabits of memory," says Jean-Louis Duval, Open VTOS Business Manager of ESI Group.

Concurrently, ESI Group, a pioneer in this domain, announces the release of the PAM-CRASH solver on Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003. "This version will allow our customers to benefit from the performance of the DMP (Distributed Memory Processing) version of PAM-CRASH on clusters of industry standard 64-bit hardware," adds Vincent Chaillou, President and Chief Operating Officer, Product Operations ESI Group.

"We understand the availability of 64-bit applications from software vendors such as ESI is critical in helping our mainstream customers be able to easily deploy, manage and use Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003," .said Kyril Faenov, Director of High Performance Computing, Microsoft Corp.. "ESI Group's PAM CRASH Solver leverages key Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 technologies, such as Microsoft MPI and Job Scheduler, which in turn simplifies integration for our customers."

ESI Group is a world-leading supplier, and a pioneer of digital simulation software for prototyping and manufacturing processes that take into account the physics of materials. ESI Group has developed an extensive suite of coherent, industry oriented applications to realistically simulate a product's behavior during testing, to fine-tune manufacturing processes in accordance with desired product performance, and evaluate the environment's impact on product performance.
