Dassault Systemes and AMD Announce Availability of V5 PLM Solutions on AMD64 Technology
Dassault Systemes (DS) announced the availability of V5 PLM 64-bit solutions on AMD Opteron T processor-based systems, starting with Version 5 Release 16, announced November 8, 2005.
The first AMD Opteron processor-based systems recently certified by Dassault Systemes to run V5 PLM 64-bit solutions are the HP xw9300 workstation and the IBM Intellistation A Pro 6217 workstation.
Customers can benefit from increased maximum product model size, high levels of possible product model detail and application performance, and access to AMD's innovative processor technologies.
"With V5 PLM, Dassault Systemes offers an elegant environment for collaboration on some of the most compute-intensive product design projects," said Joe Menard, corporate vice president, Software Strategy, AMD. "As time, resources and frequent communication are increasingly key for V5 PLM users, AMD is working alongside Dassault Systemes to help offer a broad range of 64-bit multi-core optimizations for AMD Opteron processor-based workstations."
