PTC Arbortext® Selected by Bristol-Myers Squibb for Dynamic Publishing

PTC, the Product Development CompanyT, announced that Bristol-Myers Squibb Company has selected PTC's Arbortext solutions as part of its medical communications system. With this enterprise publishing solution, pharmaceutical organizations like Bristol-Myers Squibb can streamline and automate the publishing of medical inquiry responses.

Health care practitioners and consumers expect timely, accurate and consistent responses to drug product-related inquiries. Industry leaders are adopting enterprise publishing technology because it allows them to create and manage pre-approved content in reusable modules, dynamically assemble response packages, and automatically publish responses to multiple output formats. These process improvements enhance productivity, reduce cost and allow medical writers to focus on the content of responses instead of spending time on low-value manual formatting tasks. Bristol-Myers Squibb selected PTC's Arbortext solutions because of their extensive use in the life sciences industry and proven record of automating the medical communications process.

"Our Arbortext solutions enable life sciences organizations to efficiently and cost-effectively handle the ever-increasing volumes of information and inquiries by standardizing on a process to dynamically assemble approved content with customer information and then automatically publishing medical response packages based on a customer's information delivery requirements," said Joe Jenkins, life sciences vertical marketing director, PTC. "We're excited to work with Bristol-Myers Squibb as they enhance their medical communication system."

In addition to supporting the medical communications process, life sciences organizations are able to leverage their investment in Arbortext solutions across the entire drug development process including Pre-clinical, Clinical, Regulatory and Manufacturing. Arbortext enterprise publishing solutions are used to maintain consistent product information across all package, label and documentation output by eliminating manual tasks and streamlining the content creation and publishing process. This ultimately improves content quality and time-to-market of new products.
