ClearForest Unveils First BI Methodology for Deployment of Text Analytics-Enabled Applications

ClearForest unveiled ClearPathT, the first iterative methodology for the rapid deployment of text analytics and unified business intelligence (UBI) applications. ClearPath is designed to help companies successfully launch a variety of text analytics applications, including solutions for Quality Early Warning, Innovation, Risk & Fraud Detection, Market Insight and Customer Loyalty. ClearForest will broadcast a Webinar on October 26, 2005 at 2:00 PM EDT to provide an in-depth introduction to ClearPath; to register please go to http://www.clearforest.com .

Industry leaders across a variety of markets are extending traditional structured business intelligence solutions to include text analytics solutions. When implemented correctly these new unified business intelligence architectures enable companies to access, structure and analyze data hidden within free form text such as call center notes, survey data, warranty claims, and business news. The ability to have a unified view of information provides companies with a distinct competitive advantage.

"Text Analytics technology has existed in the market place for many years," said Barak Pridor, CEO of ClearForest. "Methodologies like this beginning to appear are a clear sign that this space is maturing. Capabilities are an important component to an overall solution, but only when combined with clear business goals, process and methodologies."

The ClearPath methodology is comprised of four overarching phases designed to help customers target specific operational areas and build out a scalable foundation of functionality. Each phase includes a series of milestones and deliverables to help keep implementations focused and on schedule. ClearPath begins with a Solutions Workshop that maps operational initiatives to strategic objects, provides a guide for helping companies efficiently incorporate text analytics into existing data mining, reporting, alerting, faceted navigation and workflow applications and culminates with ClearForest's Business Value Analysis, a customer-specific ROI model that incorporates real-world use of the text-enabled BI solution. ClearPath reflects ClearForest's seven years of proven experience in implementing text analytics applications across the publishing, manufacturing, financial services and government sectors.

The approach focuses on value, voice and visibility, the key elements that define UBI solutions. "As unified business intelligence continues to gain market acceptance, companies will require guidance and expertise to target a high-value area or issue within the enterprise, hone in on the specific voice (customer, partner, competitor, etc.) that will prove most useful in solving the issue and determine the most impactful way to deliver, or make visible, that information to a target user audience," said Michael Charney, vice president of professional and technical services at ClearForest. "ClearPath is a product-independent guide for helping companies that might not know or understand how to design and implement UBI. It is based on best practices that ClearForest has developed over its history of successful client engagements."
