GlobalSpec Surpasses Two Million Registered User Mark; Largest Database of Specification Searchable Catalogs Attracting Growing Numbers of Registered Users

GlobalSpec announced it has surpassed two million registered users.

Over the past 18 months, GlobalSpec's registered user community has doubled in size, growing from one million registered users in 2004. Users register for access to SpecSearch, GlobalSpec's trademarked search technology, which allows engineers and other technical professionals the ability to search by specification more than 86 million parts in 1,250,000 product families from over 15,500 supplier catalogs. SpecSearch also serves to connect members of the technical B2B community with appropriate manufacturers, service providers and distributors, delivering branding, exposure and trackable sales leads from highly qualified prospects to thousands of participating suppliers who promote their products and services on GlobalSpec.

"Achieving two million registered users is a major milestone for GlobalSpec, one that speaks to the enormous level of embracement inside the worldwide engineering community for our search and database products," said Jeffrey M. Killeen, chairman and CEO of GlobalSpec. "We continue to add new registered users at the rate of approximately 20,000 each week. This impressive volume of registered users is extremely gratifying to us as we complete our seventh commercial year as a business."

Additionally, GlobalSpec offers both registered users and unregistered visitors access to The Engineering Web(sm)-more than 200 million pages of engineering-specific content, including key information such as patents, standards, application notes, material properties, CAD files and part numbers. Recently, the company announced that it is focused on adding even more robust content, including articles and other content from journals, reference books and the engineering news media.
