PROSTEP and AutoWeb Team to Improve the Exchange of Intellectual Property

PROSTEP and AutoWeb announced a unique solution that enables an efficient and secure means of data exchange between each companies data exchange systems for their respective clients. The solution integrates the two companies respective data exchange systems, the AutoWeb Intellectual Property Exchange and the Engineering Data Workflow solution OpenDXM® from PROSTEP.

The integration project was initiated to address the need of a global Tier-1 automotive supplier who required connectivity between their offices and clients in Europe that used OpenDXM® and those in North America that used AutoWeb. The resulting offer is a fully automated and more streamlined method of utilizing the current AutoWeb and PROSTEP applications that are required by this Tier-1's clients.

"With this new product, PROSTEP is able to offer its OpenDXM®-customers a solution for executing a global data exchange strategy" said Dr. Bernd Pätzold, President and CEO of PROSTEP AG. "This includes the support of various data exchange standards like ODETTE file transfer in the European market and AutoWeb file exchange in the US- and Asian markets. We follow our customer requirements, which are more and more oriented on worldwide operations combined with the support of global engineering data exchange and collaboration."

"AutoWeb is pleased to be offering this integrated product to our clients. It will make global communication throughout our customers' supply chains more efficient and effective. As the economy becomes more global the need for these types of cooperative solutions will only get stronger" stated Nino DiCosmo; Chairman, President and CEO of AutoWeb.

The two companies finalized and installed the first stage of the project earlier this month and hope to announce a full integration solution to all of their customers by Q4 2005.
