IBM Names PROSTEP Advanced Level Partner
Within the ranks of IBM's Partnerworld program, PROSTEP AG has joined the circle of members who carry the status "Advanced Level Industry Optimized". This status is awarded to manufacturers whose software solutions are characterized by a particularly high level of compatibility to IBM software and hardware products. A major factor in this recognition is the successful integration of OpenPDM®, PROSTEP's PLM integration platform, in IBM's WebSphere Business Integration (WBI) software suite.
The combination of WBI and OpenPDM® allows IBM and PROSTEP to offer a powerful and scalable environment for the integration of different business processes which not only meets the needs of large corporations but also those of small and medium-sized companies. As an IBM Business Partner Advanced Level Industry Optimized, the Darmstadt-headquartered PLM specialist also provides IBM customers and WBI users with appropriate services. The company is currently in the process of realizing its initial customer projects in this area.
The OpenPDM® product family from PROSTEP provides an integration solution for the product data from different PDM, ERP or legacy systems which possess connectors to the leading PDM systems such as Teamcenter , UG Manager, mySAP PLM, ENOVIAVPM, Windchill or Pro/INTRALINK. These connectors allow relevant PDM information such as part and document master data, product and model structures, configuration information and release statuses to be exchanged or made available while ensuring consistent and conflict-free access to the systems.
WBI provides for an unrestricted flow of information and a smooth process flow across all applications and thus also allows cross-enterprise B2B integration with partners, suppliers and customers. The business processes are modeled graphically and can be simulated using parameters that can be configured as required. WBI monitors the correct process flow and provides tools for dynamic process analysis, which allows for a fast and flexible response to changing marginal conditions.
