AVEVA Delivers Huge Package of Customer-Driven Enhancements to Project Resource Management System

AVEVA announced the release of VANTAGE Project Resource Management (VPRM) 9.6: the latest update to the materials and resource management solution from the VANTAGE suite.

The launch of VPRM 9.6 was largely triggered by customer feedback, especially tighter integration with JD Edwards' financial software, which is used by many leading engineering companies. It enables the automatic transfer of cost-coded purchase order details using flexible Web Services & XML. There was also demand for a configurable technology link that would allow vendor documents to be displayed directly from the project document vault.

The release also answers demand for preliminary, controlled material take-off of 'yet-to-be-identified' bulk and tagged items. This change allows any engineering discipline to export MTO details to VPRM, giving earlier visibility and increased confidence in information of material requirements downstream. AVEVA has developed an interface to allow customers to take advantage of these new features immediately.

"AVEVA's in-depth industry knowledge, coupled with our reputation for the timely development and delivery of software was a major factor in Chicago Bridge & Iron signing our recent worldwide agreement against considerable competition." said Richard Longdon, CEO of AVEVA. "The JD Edwards interface has been included as standard in release 9.6, to the benefit of all VPRM customers."

The ability to link VPRM with any MTO or 3D-modelling system offers a significant benefit, as customers no longer have to waste time synchronizing specifications in order to "hand-shake" material requirements accurately. VPRM 9.6 has also been more closely integrated with AVEVA's Model Management, which enables the engineering department to save considerable checking time, and leading to far greater confidence in project estimates.

Other enhancements include: automation between VPRM, PDMS, and other external systems; approval and issue control of isometric and support drawings for MTO and additional support for Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003 and Oracle 10g.
